Mike and the design team from Malone Farm Machinery, Ballyglass, won a Special Merit Award for their latest innovation, the Shake N Rake at this years National Ploughing Championships, last week. In the picture Mike is receiving the award from Anna Mae McHugh and Phil Hogan the European Commissioner for Agriculture.

The Shake N Rake is a dual purpose machine combining a tedder and a rake on the same chassis. The two machines work independently of each other and eliminate the need for two separate machines, tractors or wasting time unhitching one machine and setting up another.

With this being Mayo Ideas Week and the Spirit of the West highlighting the opportunities for entrepreneurs, Malone’s are certainly doing their bit!
